New Higher Education's First Independently Assured ESG Report Released

Pioneering in Full-Lifecycle Carbon Emission Management among Industry, Achieving Multi-Dimensional Breakthroughs in Photovoltaic Emission Reduction, Green Courses, and Employee Development

 

(14 January 2026, Hong Kong SAR, China) China’s leading higher education group - China New Higher Education Group Limited ("New Higher Education Group", together with its subsidiaries, referred to as the "Group", stock code: 2001.HK) officially released its FY2024/2025 ESG Report. This is not only the tenth ESG report issued by the Group, but also the first ESG report verified by an external independent auditor, marking a milestone in the Group's practice in the field of sustainable development.

 

It is noteworthy that in the latest rating report released by S&P Global on December 4, the Group's S&P ESG score was raised to 39 points, ranking among the top five globally. This fully demonstrates the high recognition of international authoritative rating agencies for the Group's ESG governance effectiveness and sustainable development capabilities.

 

Solidifying the Foundation of Green Development and Practicing the Concept of Low-Carbon Development

 

Practicing green development in parallel with environmental protection is a distinctive feature of the Group's high-quality development. In the field of climate governance, the Group systematically carried out climate risk and opportunity assessment as well as climate scenario analysis for the first time during the Reporting Period, strictly following the TCFD (Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures) recommended framework throughout the process. Meanwhile, a new ESG Environment Group was established to regularly review the progress and implementation measures of ESG environmental goals. In addition, the Group took proactive forward-looking layout, conducting a feasibility analysis on the collection of Scope 3 greenhouse gas emission data for the first time during the Reporting Period to enhance the value chain carbon reduction management capabilities.

 

During the Reporting Period, the Group actively responded to the national "dual carbon" goals, and created a replicable and promotable green campus management model through initiatives such as building its own photovoltaic systems and constructing smart water platforms. Among them, Yunnan School completed the construction of a photovoltaic power generation system with an average annual generation capacity of approximately 3 million kWh, which can meet 16% of the school's total electricity consumption. Northeast School built a "Campus Smart Water Management Platform", significantly improving water resource utilization efficiency. Luoyang School completed the addition and upgrading of 97 street lamps in total, creating a comprehensive green and low-carbon campus environment.

Cultivating Employee Well-being and Supporting the Growth of Student and Faculty

 

The Group has always been committed to providing a diversified and comprehensive welfare care system for all employees. In terms of employee growth empowerment, the Group has established and improved the academic qualification allowances and title allowance, and regularly organizes diversified training and team-building activities. In terms of new employee training, the Group has built a full-coverage training system, with a 100% coverage rate of new employee training (including seconded). The average business processing time of new employees has been reduced by 20%, and the project cycle of their respective teams has been shortened by 10%, demonstrating efficient on-the-job integration capabilities.

 

At the level of faculty team building, the Group has invested tens of millions RMB in total to implement the "Three Excellence" incentive plan, and introduced the advanced BOPPPS Model Training to systematically carry out 1,304 special training sessions. Targeting the needs of teachers for further study and academic improvement, supporting special incentive policies have been formulated with an annual investment of RMB1.1 million. The faculty building has achieved remarkable results, with the number of awards won by the Group's teachers in national authoritative teaching competitions increasing by 46.3% year on year. In terms of diversified development, the Group disclosed for the first time that the proportion of women in management reaches 51%, fully demonstrating a high degree of inclusiveness and injecting diverse vitality into the enterprise's development.

 

During the Reporting Period, the Group has persistently conducted satisfaction surveys among eight schools. The overall student Net Promoter Score (sNPS) reached 62.38%, a significant year-on-year increase of 27.74 percentage points. The overall employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) was 44.78%, a year-on-year increase of 20.64 percentage points. The dual improvement of student and faculty satisfaction demonstrates the solid implementation of the Group's people-oriented philosophy.

Fulfilling University ESG Responsibilities and Embracing the Opportunities Presented by Climate Change

 

The Group actively fulfills university ESG responsibilities and strengthens the leading role of universities in the field of ESG. For example, the school in Zhengzhou advances the development of "Carbon Neutrality Technology" micro-specialty, constructing a teaching system that includes specialized courses such as "Climate Change Science" and "Fundamentals of Carbon Emission Accounting and Monitoring". Through systematic curriculum development, the Group promotes the deep integration of ESG concepts into higher education. The Group embraces the opportunities brought by climate change, transforms the expectations of students, parents, employers and the public for environmental education into business opportunities, takes the initiative to integrate climate education into the curriculum system, and develops teaching content with ESG elements. For instance, Northeast School plans to offer a course on "Green Building and Building Carbon Emissions", demonstrating its commitment to addressing climate change through concrete actions. At the same time, it accurately connects with key enterprises in the green industrial chain, focuses on developing jobs in fields such as new energy, energy conservation and environmental protection, and green services, and gives priority to carrying out school-enterprise cooperation with enterprises aligned with national "dual carbon" goals and have green technologies or related certifications, thus promoting industry-education integration and low-carbon transition.

 

Driven by sustainable development, the Group has achieved fruitful results in high-quality employment. The initial employment rate of the 2025 graduates reached 98.22%, the high-quality employment rate was 53.94%, and the number of graduates employed by well-known enterprises increased by 110.32%; the final employment rate of the 2024 graduates has exceeded 95% for five consecutive years, and the "very satisfied" rate of employers reached 81.90%, demonstrating the Group's talent training quality and social recognition.

 

Practicing the Original Aspiration of Educational Public Welfare and Assisting Rural Revitalization and Value Creation

 

The Group has always adhered to promoting the deep integration of educational public welfare and rural revitalization, and actively fulfilled its social responsibilities. During the Reporting Period, the total duration of voluntary services organized by the Group was approximately 1.135 million hours. Through initiatives such as purchasing rural revitalization-related products and promoting consumption assistance, it has effectively helped rural development.

 

At the same time, the Group has promoted the effective connection between educational assistance and rural revitalization over the long term, having funded nearly 10,000 poor students to complete their studies. The "Dianxi Rural Youth Entrepreneurship Talent Training Program" has successfully cultivated 830 rural leaders in prosperity, driving nearly 4,000 people out of poverty and injecting strong momentum into rural revitalization. During the Reporting Period, Guangxi School promoted multi-dimensional skills training initiative to improve the employment capacity of rural laborers. Zhengzhou School implemented the "Smart Support for Rural Communities" agricultural machinery services and popular science activities of to assist the development of agricultural modernization and continuously create social value.
